Here it is, Christmas eve-eve. Normally I would be eating cookies and watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation for the millionth time. But... I did that last night. Some things never change.
A lot does.
This year. This year is a complete sentence. Actually, it is more than that. This year is a whole book.
I could go on about all the monumental life events that happened this year (baby, business, etc.) like those end of the year holiday letters your aunt used to send. I could tell you how much I've grown, how much I've learned. I'm sure you would be somewhat entertained and perhaps even mildly inspired.
I am not going to do that.
Honestly, it's kind of private, messy and incomplete. I am certainly not ready to tie it up in to a neat and concise blog post.
However, in the interest of goal setting, which I find to be wildly important, I felt called to share a letter I wrote about my hopes for the new year. To who exactly, I'm not entirely sure... to whomever ends up reading this I suppose. May it offer you some inspiration to pursue your hopes, your goals and your dreams in 2019.
Because, you see, there is still a great deal of my journey ahead. Still so much to do, to see, to create.
That being said, if we are not more careful, all of our journeys will be cut short. Scary, but real - our environment is at great risk. I hope that in 2019 I can make significant changes, personally, to lessen my impact on the environment. In doing so I hope to quietly inspire others to do the same.
In closing, I hope this letter may serve as a reminder that time waits for no one. In 2019, may we all stop with the "right time" excuse, stop waiting for it to be "perfect" (whatever "it" is), or waiting until it's too late. Now is the time.
Happy New Year,
